    • Involve all the layers of the skin
  • Clean laceration:
    • No dirt or contamination is present
  • Contaminated laceration:
  • Complicated lacerations involve underlying tissue, such as:
    • Muscle
    • Tendon
    • Joint
    • Nerve
    • Blood vessel
    • Organ
