Labial Pain Anatomy
To better understand vaginal pain, it helps to understand the anatomy of the vagina.
The female genitals, or vulva, include two sets of skin folds: the labia minor and the labia major. The vulva surround the clitoris, the urethra, and the opening to the vagina. The urethra empties urine from the bladder. The vagina leads to the cervix, which is the opening to the uterus, or womb.
