A person with knee tendinitis has inflammation of the tendons in the knee. Tendons are strong bands that connect muscles to bone. The most common type of knee tendinitis is patellar tendinitis, which involves the tendon below the kneecap. Less commonly, knee tendinitis may involve the quadriceps tendon, which is above the kneecap. Images

Symptoms of knee tendinitis are similar to knee bursitis. Symptoms include knee pain that worsens with movement, climbing, and jumping. Additional symptoms include swelling, warmth, and tenderness over the tendon. Images

How does the doctor treat knee tendinitis?
