Interstitial Cystitis Evaluation

The evaluation of an interstitial cystitis begins with a history and physical examination.

The physical exam is usually normal.

Testing is necessary to make the diagnosis of interstitial cystitis.

Tests that may be used to evaluate interstitial cystitis include:

Urinalysis
Urine cultures
Kidney profile
Complete blood count
Cystoscopy
Bladder biopsy
Abdominal ultrasound
CT scanning of the abdomen
CT scanning of the pelvis
