Injury of the Arm Underlying Cause

Causes of arm injuries include:

  • Automobile accidents
  • Direct blows
  • Falls
  • Pulling on the arm
  • Sports
  • Twisting

When a forceful motion overloads one of the joints, three types of injury can occur:
  • Strain of the tendons that attach muscles to the bones
  • Sprain of the ligaments that attach one bone to another bone
  • Fracture of the bones
