Hyphema Evaluation
The evaluation of a hyphema begins with a medical history and physical examination. This includes vision testing, examining the retina with an ophthalmoscope, and a slit lamp exam. Images

Physical findings in someone with a hyphema may include:
  • Tenderness around the eye Images
  • Swelling around the eye Images
  • Bruising around the eye Images
  • A collection of blood in front of the pupil Images
