Hip Pain Home Care
Home care for hip pain includes:
  • Avoid activities that cause hip pain.
  • Apply cold compresses:
    • Wrap ice in a moist hand towel. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
    • Apply for 20-30 minutes, every 4 hours, for the first few days.
  • Apply warm compresses:
    • Apply for 20-30 minutes, every 4 hours.
  • Rest the hip:
    • Use a walker.
    • Use crutches.
    • Use a cane.
  • Acetaminophen for pain Images
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications for pain Images
  • Take prescription medications as directed.
  • Perform hip stretching exercises.

    • Aspercreme
    • Ben-Gay
    • Capzasin-HP
    • Sportscreme
