Herpes Varicella Symptoms

Initial symptoms of chicken pox are similar to a cold and include:

Later symptoms of chicken pox include:
  • Rash
    • Rash starts out as small red spots that turn to clear blisters
    • Begins on the face or trunk and then spreads to the limbs
    • Blisters can form inside the mouth
    • Blisters can form on the scalp
    • Blisters eventually form ulcers, and then form scabs
  • Itching is common

This entire process may take 7-14 days prior to resolution of all symptoms.
