Herpes Simplex Type 2 Underlying Cause
Herpes simplex has two main forms: type 1 and type 2. Herpes simplex type 2 causes herpes genitalis. The virus enters the skin during sexual contact with someone who is infected by the virus.
Once the initial infection occurs, the virus remains inside the body for life.
