Herald Patch Symptoms

Symptoms of upper respiratory infection usually occur before the rash of pityriasis rosea.

Symptoms of pityriasis rosea may include:

  • Rash begins with one round patch on the skin
  • Rash spreads over the trunk or extremities after 2 days:
    • Round, salmon-colored or pink patches on the skin
    • Patches form a pattern that looks like a Christmas tree
    • Patches may cover the entire body
