Most people do not develop symptoms after the initial infection with the hepatitis C virus. Symptoms may develop only after the liver starts to fail.

Symptoms of hepatitis C include:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Abdominal pain:
• Usually right upper abdominal pain
• Fatigue
• Fever
• Itching
• Jaundice
• Yellow skin
• Yellow eyes
• Brown urine
• Abnormal stool:
• Clay-colored stool
• Anorexia

Symptoms of severe disease include:

• Coma
• Confusion
• Severe fatigue
• Seizures
