Physical findings in someone with hemophilia A may include:

• Excessive bruising
• Knee joint swelling
• Muscle hematoma
• Nosebleed
• A rash that looks like broken blood vessels of bruises on the skin

Tests that may be used to evaluate hemophilia A include:

• Complete blood count
• Bleeding time
• Factor 8 level
• Fibrinogen level
• Prothrombin time
• PTT

Less commonly performed tests that may be used to evaluate hemophilia A include:

• MRI scan of the brain
• Ultrasound of the abdomen
• Intravenous pyelogram (IVP)
