Hemangiomas Evaluation
The evaluation of hemangiomas starts with a history and physical exam. Images

The diagnosis of hemangioma is made on physical exam.

Physical findings in someone with a hemangioma include:
  • Bright red, purple or blue patches of skin Images
    • The colored skin is usually raised
    • Patches are present at birth
    • Patches may occur on any part of the body
  • Some hemangiomas protrude from the skin surface
Tests are not necessary to evaluate a hemangioma.
