Heart Attack Complications: Dressler's Syndrome
Weeks to months following a heart attack, some people develop a painful chest syndrome, called Dressler's syndrome or post-myocardial infarction syndrome. It is caused by inflammation of the pericardium, which is the thin membrane that surrounds the heart.
