Headache after Lumbar Puncture Prevention

Prevention of spinal headaches includes:

  • Rest in bed for 12 hours after the following procedures:
    • Spinal tap
    • Myelogram
    • Epidural anesthesia
    • Spinal surgery
  • Avoid exercise and lifting for 2 days after the procedure.
  • Drink plenty of fluids.
