Hansen's Disease Types
There are two main types of leprosy:
- Lepromatous leprosy:
- Causes extensive, disfiguring skin lesions
- Tuberculoid leprosy:
- Causes less extensive skin lesions
Both types of leprosy cause damage to peripheral nerves, which results in numbness and muscle weakness.
