Grave's Disease Surgery
Surgery is performed in young patients with Grave's disease, and those with severe thyroid enlargement. It is also useful in those who cannot tolerate medications for hyperthyroidism or radioactive iodine treatments. Thyroid hormone replacement therapy is necessary after surgical removal of the thyroid gland.
