Forearm Fracture Types

Types of forearm fractures include:

  • Fractures of the radius and ulna
  • Colle's fracture:
    • The wrist is bent upward
  • Smith's fracture:
    • The wrist is bent downward
  • Galeazzi's fracture:
    • Fracture of the radius with dislocation of the ulna and radius at the wrist
  • Monteggia's fracture:
    • Fracture of the ulna with dislocation of the radius.
  • Nightstick fracture:
    • Fracture of the ulna
  • Greenstick fracture:
    • A bending fracture of the bones that can occur in children
