Forearm Fracture Treatment
The treatment for forearm fractures depends on the severity of the injury.

Treatment for forearm fractures may include:
  • Cold compresses to the forearm
  • Rest the forearm
  • Elbow cast
  • Elbow splint
  • Forearm splint Videos
  • With some forearm injuries you may wish to wear a sling for comfort: Videos
    • Long term immobilization in a sling can lead to frozen shoulder.
    • If you wear a shoulder sling for longer than two weeks make sure you perform shoulder range of motion exercises twice a day to avoid frozen shoulder. Images
  • Elevate the arm:
    • Above the heart if possible
  • Narcotic pain medication
  • Surgery for a forearm fracture
  • Physical therapy for forearm fracture
