Calcaneus Fracture
The calcaneus, or heel bone, is the largest bone in the foot. It is usually fractured in a fall. It causes severe heel pain, bruising and inability to bear weight.

This fracture results in a flattening of the normal arch of the foot. It is a serious injury that may require surgery. Many people suffer chronic heel pain after this injury.
