Complications of seizures include:
- Aspiration pneumonia

- Depression
- Injuries that occur during the seizure:
- Learning disabilities
- Mallory-Weiss tear
- Medication side effects

- Status epilepticus:
- Seizure that lasts longer than 30 minutes
- Multiple episodes of seizure without complete recovery between episodes
- Rhabdomyolysis
