Another name for Flushing Syndrome is Carcinoid Syndrome.

What is carcinoid syndrome?
A person with carcinoid syndrome has symptoms caused by a carcinoid tumor. Carcinoid tumors are malignant tumors that arise most often in the lungs or the intestine. Carcinoid tumors produce serotonin, which is a hormone that dilates blood vessels throughout the body. In children, carcinoid tumors often occur inside the appendix.

What are the symptoms of carcinoid syndrome?
Symptoms of carcinoid syndrome may include abdominal pain, abdominal swelling, diarrhea, facial flushing, wheezing, and a rapid pulse.
