Finger Pain Home Care: Warning Signs
Notify your doctor if you have finger pain and any of the following:
  • Laceration of the finger
  • Puncture wound of the finger
  • Injection injury Images
  • Bruising or swelling Images
  • Deformity of a nail Images
  • Finger deformity Images
  • Inability to fully move the finger
  • Persistent tenderness over the bones
  • Severe finger pain Images
  • Worsening finger pain
  • Worsening finger swelling Images
  • Worsening redness and swelling around a wound Images
If you are placed in a cast or splint, notify your doctor for:
  • Blue skin color Images
  • Increasing pain
  • Loss of feeling
  • Loss of skin color
  • Loss of finger circulation Images
