Notify your doctor if you have a finger injury and any of the following:

• Laceration of the finger
• Puncture wound of the finger
• Injection injury
• Bruising or swelling
• Deformity of a nail
• Finger deformity
• Inability to fully move the finger
• Persistent tenderness over the bones
• Severe finger pain
• Worsening finger pain
• Worsening finger swelling
• Worsening redness and swelling around a wound

If you are placed in a cast or splint, notify your doctor for:

• Blue skin color
• Increasing pain
• Loss of feeling
• Loss of skin color
• Loss of finger circulation
