Febrile Seizure Symptoms
The majority of febrile seizures last for less than a few minutes.

Symptoms of a febrile seizure include:
  • Sudden stiffness of the arms, legs and back
  • Shaking of the arms and legs
  • Deep breathing
  • Clenching of the teeth
  • Eyes rolled back:
    • Eyes look up toward the forehead
  • Bladder incontinence
  • Fainting:
    • Unconsciousness during the seizure
Symptoms that may occur after a febrile seizure include:
Additional symptoms that may occur after a febrile seizure usually resolve quickly, over a few minutes. Children with febrile seizures quickly awaken and become alert after the short period of sleepiness or confusion.
