• Facial bone x-rays
• CT scan of the brain:
• If head injury is also being considered
• CT scan of the facial bones
• MRI scan of the face
• Jaw and dental x-rays
• Angiography or venography of large blood vessels
• Serum BNP level
• Kidney profile
• Serum C1 esterase level for hereditary angioedema
• Urinalysis
• Allergy skin testing
• Eye examination
