Physical findings in a woman with endometriosis may include:

• An enlarged uterus
• An enlarged ovary
• Cervical tenderness
• Signs of anemia:
• Pallor
• Rapid heart rate
• Rapid breathing
• Abnormally low blood pressure upon standing

Testing is required to confirm the diagnosis of endometriosis.

Tests that may be used to evaluate endometriosis may include:

• Laparoscopy
• Pelvic ultrasound:
• Looks for abnormal ovaries and tumors
• Serum pregnancy test
• Serum progesterone level
• Serum estrogen level
• Complete blood count
• Coagulation profile
• PAP smear
• Urinalysis

Less commonly used tests that may be used to evaluate endometriosis include:

• CT scanning of the pelvis
