Physical findings in women with endometrial polyps may include:

• A polyp that is visible through the opening in the cervix
• Bleeding from the cervix
• An enlarged uterus

Tests that may be used to evaluate endometrial polyps include:

• Pelvic ultrasound:
• Looks for abnormal ovaries and tumors
• Serum pregnancy test
• Serum progesterone level
• Serum estrogen level
• PAP smear
• Urinalysis
• Complete blood count
• Coagulation profile
• Hysteroscopy:
• The use of a special endoscope to look inside the uterus and remove a polyp for biopsy

Less commonly used tests that may be used to evaluate endometrial polyps include:

• CT scanning of the pelvis
• Laparoscopy
