Electrical Injury Home Care
Home care for burns caused by an electrical injury includes:
  • Apply cold compresses.
  • Drink plenty of liquids.
  • Do not puncture a blister. This increases the risk of infection.
  • Care for a wound or ruptured blister:
    • Clean the skin gently with soap and water.
    • Apply antibiotic ointment.
    • Apply a protective bandage over the blister.
  • Apply a sterile dressing over any blistered skin.
  • Take prescribed medications as directed.
