Dry Skin Prevention
Prevention of dry skin includes:
  • Wash your skin gently with mild soap twice a day.
    • Take oatmeal baths.
    • Bathe in warm water, rather than hot water.
    • Pat your skin dry after bathing: do not rub the skin.
  • Use hypoallergenic cosmetics.
  • Use hypoallergenic soap.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun.
    • Wear clothing that blocks the sun's rays.
    • Apply sunscreen that blocks UV radiation.
    • Wear a hat.
  • Wear all cotton clothing.
  • Wear gloves when you use household cleaners.
  • Take prescription medications as directed.
