Another name for Dry Lips is Chapped Lips.

What are chapped lips?
A person with chapped lips has dryness of the skin that covers the lips. The skin becomes dry when the lips are unable to produce enough oil to keep them moist. Chapped lips are most common in dry climates. When the lips become chapped, the surface of the lips become flaky and cracked.

What are the symptoms of chapped lips?
Symptoms of chapped lips include lip drying, cracking, and bleeding. Lips may become painful and swollen.

How does the doctor treat chapped lips?
Chapped lips can be treated at home with lip balm or the regular application of petroleum jelly.
