A person with a drooping eyelid has an eyelid that that does not open completely and prevents light from entering the pupil. Images

The decrease in the amount of light entering the eye results in impaired vision. The most common cause of drooping eyelid is old age. The normal aging process can weaken the muscles around the eye that keep the lid open.
