  • Avoid alcohol.
  • Avoid food that irritates the esophagus.
  • Avoid medications that irritate the esophagus.
  • Avoid lie on your back immediately after eating.
  • Eat a small meal in the evening.
  • Raise the head of your bed.
  • Chew your food completely.
