Diabetic Gastroparesis Hiccups

Home treatment measures for diabetic gastroparesis include:

  • Try a series of deep breath-holding maneuvers.
  • Try rebreathing into a paper bag (but not if you have chronic lung disease).
  • Try drinking a glass of water rapidly.
  • Try swallowing dry bread or crushed ice.
  • Try the Valsalva maneuver: hold your breath while squeezing the air inside your lungs.
