What is beriberi?
A person with beriberi has a deficiency of vitamin B1, or thiamin. Beriberi mainly affects the heart and nervous system. There are two forms of this condition: wet beriberi and dry beriberi. Wet beriberi causes heart failure. Dry beriberi causes damage to the nerves, called neuropathy.
What are the symptoms of beriberi?
Symptoms of beriberi include fatigue, moodiness, depression, inability to concentrate, constipation, nausea, and abdominal pain.

Treatment of beriberi is done with Vitamin B1 supplementation.
