The most common symptom of deep venous thrombosis is swelling in one leg. Swelling starts in the foot and calf, but can also involve the thigh.

Symptoms of deep venous thrombosis include:

• Leg swelling (unilateral)
• Calf swelling (unilateral)
• Leg pain (unilateral)
• Calf pain (unilateral)
• Leg tenderness
• Calf tenderness
• Warmth over the skin of the leg
• Leg redness
• Fever
