Symptoms of cri du chat syndrome include:

  • Poor feeding in infants
  • Fussy infant
  • Mental retardation
  • High-pitched or cat-like cry
  • Low birth weight
  • Downward slant to eyes
  • Small head
  • Abnormally shaped ears
  • Partial webbing of the fingers or toes
  • A single line in the palm
  • Slow or incomplete development of motor skills
  • Skin tags in front of the ears
