Coronary artery disease may not cause any symptoms for many years. Chest pain or angina is the most common symptom of coronary artery disease.

Symptoms of angina include:

• Chest pain:
• Heaviness, squeezing or pressure
• Located in the front of the chest
• Pain that lasts for longer than 10 minutes
• Pain that is triggered by exertion
• Pain that is relieved with rest
• Pain that travels to the back neck, jaw, shoulder or arm
• Arm pain (unilateral):
• Usually in the left arm, but may also occur in the right arm
• Arm pain (bilateral):
• Pain in both arms is less common
• Difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Excessive sweating
• Jaw pain
• Lightheadedness
• Nausea
• Neck pain
• Palpitations
• Vomiting
