  • Corns can range from a minor thickening of the skin to a painful, hard bump. Images
  • Corns often form at the top of deformed toe joints, such as hammertoes.
  • Many people get corns on the end of their toes when the toes rub against shoes.
  • Corns can also grow between the toes, usually between the first and second toes.
  • Less commonly, corns and calluses can become very painful. The swelling and pain may also cause difficulty walking.
