Contusions Evaluation
The evaluation of a contusion begins with a medical history and physical examination.

Physical findings in someone with a contusion may include:
  • Bruising Images
  • Localized swelling Images
  • Tenderness of the skin
  • No tenderness of the bone or other deep structures
  • Normal nerve and muscle function
Tests are not necessary to evaluate minor contusions. X-rays may used to look for fractured bones.
