Symptoms of cold sores include:
  • Ulcers on the lips and the skin around the mouth Images
    • Most cold sores start with a burning or tingling sensation in the lip.
    • This slowly builds to a dull throbbing pain in the lip.

  • Rarely, cold sores can occur inside the nose.
