Chronic Glaucoma Evaluation
The evaluation of chronic glaucoma begins with a medical history and eye examination. Images

Physical findings in someone with chronic glaucoma may include:
  • Abnormal retina Images
  • Abnormal visual acuity Images
The diagnosis must be confirmed through testing.

Tests that may be used to evaluate chronic glaucoma include:
  • Perimetry:
    • Checking the entire visual field for defects Images
  • Funduscopic examination:
    • Normal retina Images
    • Glaucoma retina Images
  • Gonioscopy:
    • Using a special lens to examine the areas of the eye that drain fluid to keep the pressure within the eye normal.
  • Measurement of the pressure within the anterior chamber of the eye Images
  • Visual acuity measurement Images
