A person with achondroplasia has a genetic disease that causes abnormal bone growth.

People with achondroplasia are abnormally short and have disproportionately short arms and legs.

Achondroplasia cannot be cured. Orthopedic surgery can be offered to correct some skeletal abnormalities.
