A person with cervical spondylosis has destruction of the joints and disks located between the bones in the neck.

The swelling and collapse of these structures can place pressure on the nerves that pass between the bones of the neck. This can result in malfunction of the nerves that control the arms.

Causes of cervical spondylosis include:

• Neck injury
• Arthritis
• Overuse and stress injuries
