Notify your doctor if you have cervical lymphadenitis and any of the following:

Difficulty breathing
Fever over 104 degrees F (40 C)
Inability to drink liquids
Inability to open your mouth completely because of pain
Inability to swallow
Worsening throat swelling
Worsening lymph node swelling
Worsening neck swelling
Skin redness and pain over the neck
