Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation Treatment
A cerebral arteriovenous malformation may not be detected until it bleeds. The bleeding caused by a ruptured cerebral arteriovenous malformation is called a subarachnoid hemorrhage. An unruptured cerebral arteriovenous malformation may be treated, depending on the size of the aneurysm, location, and a person's age.

Treatment for cerebral arteriovenous malformation may include:
  • Surgery for cerebral arteriovenous malformation
    • A clip closes the abnormal communication between the artery and the vein Videos

    • A catheter is used to insert a plug, in order to close the abnormal communication between the artery and the vein.
