Carotid Sinus Syndrome Anatomy
To better understand carotid sinus hypersensitivity, it helps to understand the anatomy of the neck.
The carotid sinus is a dilated portion of the carotid artery in the neck. It is located at the point where the common carotid artery splits into the external and internal carotid arteries.
