Physical findings in someone with candidiasis may include:

• Candidiasis rash
• Patchy hair loss
• Disfigured fingernails
• Fever

The diagnosis of candidiasis may be made without testing. In some cases, testing can be used to confirm the diagnosis.

Tests that may be used to evaluate candidiasis include:

• Fungal skin scraping:
• Viewed under the microscope can be diagnostic for superficial (cutaneous) candidiasis.
