A person with candidiasis has an infection of the skin caused by the fungus, Candida albicans. Candidal infections are also called yeast infections.

Candidiasis causes a red skin rash.

Candida is often the fungus responsible for vaginal yeast infection as well as infections of the fingernails and toenails.
