What is a hand contusion?
A person with a hand contusion has a bruise to the soft tissues of the hand. A bruise is a collection of blood beneath the skin, caused by blood vessels that have broken at the time of an injury. A contusion may be caused by a blow to the hand, a sprain or a fracture.

Symptoms of a hand contusion include hand pain, hand swelling, hand tenderness, and hand bruising.
